The Finance Bill, 2023 (“the Bill”) was presented before parliament on 04 May 2023. In compliance with the Standing Order No. 241 of the National Assembly and Section 40 of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, the Cabinet secretary for the National Treasury made a public pronouncement of the budget policy highlights and revenue raising measures for the National Government on 15 June 2023.

Our Newsletter highlights some of the Key proposals made by the Cabinet Secretary after the Finance Bill underwent through public participation and recommendations presented to parliament by the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning as required by the law. The Bill will undergo the third and final reading in Parliament where voting will take place and if passed, proceed to The Senate and finally to The President for ascent into law before 01 July 2023.
